For best results, begin with the ignition off and the vehicle outside of any garages.
- Attach the vehicle end of the adapter cable to the port on the vehicle making sure to secure the connection. 9 and 6 pin adaptors have a locking collar.
- Connect the device to the cable.
- Start the engine on the vehicle and give the device a few minutes to boot up, determine its location, and connect to the cellular network.
- The device has two very small lights next to the small connector on the side of the device, which are useful for determining the status of the device and for troubleshooting.
- If no lights are showing after installation, check the connections. Diagnostic ports should be powered when the ignition is both on and off. No lights on the device may indicate that the diagnostic port is not supplying power to the device.
